Sarah Begum

Sarah has explored Planet Earth on adventures with purpose to document important stories about other cultures as well as the environment whilst becoming a pioneering face of exploration.

Her first film, ‘Amazon Souls’, where she immersed in the lives of the Huaorani tribe and was made a real-life Amazon Warrior Queen to spread their message about protecting their land premiered at the Cannes Film Festival then was distributed worldwide. Later, she was chosen to be an advocate for the tribe to propose a bilateral agreement to the Ecuadorian government.

Sarah has been highlighted by the press for her work in the Amazon Rainforest. The Guardian's San Miguel Rich List named her as one of the world's top trailblazers as an enriching explorer who has been helping others. She is endorsed by Bear Grylls, David Attenborough, Jane Goodall, Hollywood Actors Cylk Cozart and Kevin Hart as well as others for her positive contributions to the world.

Sarah was made a STEM Ambassador to inspire others into the science, technology, engineering and mathematics sectors as she believes it is important to work harmoniously towards creating a beautiful and innovative future for us all. She was the Host of a series interviewing experts and entrepreneurs about the space industry and presented content for the BBC about a Dr Who themed coding kit to encourage young people into the STEM sector.

Sarah's objectives are to successfully launch her STEM ventures and positively impact others while working with organisations who are aligned with helping humanity, creating a positive new world and protecting the planet.

As an Explorer, I was always fascinated by exploring other cultures and various environments from the wilderness of the Amazon rainforest where I hunted with the warriors to the fertile crescent in Turkey where I learned about the origins of agriculture, in unique places where I sought wisdom about ancient civilizations and in rural villages around the world where I witnessed the effects of climate change, presented documentaries and delivered humanitarian missions. On these journeys, I enjoyed connecting with people different to me to learn about their way of life and from them through meaningful interactions. In many instances, I was able to help them and I have been inspired by these beautiful experiences to be international and universal in the way that I work.

In 2017, I was working as a broadcast journalist in Ghana and featured as a panelist on a sports show while training with athletes. During my outdoor physical training, I became aware of the air quality in Accra and wanted to do something about it.  I delivered a TEDx talk about inventing the world's first solar flying car as an innovative solution to solve air pollution and secured interest from some of the brightest engineers, an e-waste resource facility and a billionaire to help me make this vision a reality. As it didn't manifest in Ghana, I revived the venture in the UK with a different team along with the interest of Cambridge University and developed it into an eVTOL concept. Through my research, I became interested in clean-tech and renewable energy and how we can use innovative technologies to clean the air and solve many other pressing global challenges.

With an interest in science, emerging technologies, deep technologies and quantum physics to understand the complex inner workings of the universe, I aim to combine these elements into my work, my STEM ventures and lead our civilization into a brighter future.
